Meet Bria

We are delighted to introduce our newest Occupational Therapist, Bria, to the Forbes Care family. As a proud First Nations woman originally from Townsville, Bria brings a mix of experiences, a strong passion for her work, and a deep commitment to improving lives through the art and science of occupational therapy.

Bria began her professional journey at James Cook University, where she graduated with a degree in Occupational Therapy in 2018. Her broad travels and diverse work experiences across Australia with her husband have led her to settle on the Sunshine Coast, where she now devotes her skills to her role at Forbes Care.

Occupational therapy is more than just a job for Bria; it's a source of happiness. Each day offers new challenges and opportunities for her to help individuals reach their goals. This dedication to transformative care is at the heart of what we do at Forbes Care, where seeing the clients we serve thrive is our greatest reward.

In her work, especially in rural communities, Bria has already shown her ability to make a real difference. Her skill in prescribing equipment has changed lives, enabling people to reconnect with their communities and loved ones—often after years of separation due to inadequate powered mobility resources. These moments of connection and empowerment highlight the significant impact occupational therapy can have on individuals' lives.

Her expertise in managing complex clients and her deep understanding of mental health, assistive technologies, and alternative housing arrangements are extremely helpful. Bria’s work with Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), Supported Independent Living (SIL), and Individualised Living Options (ILO) strategies is focused on the person, aiming to increase independence and improve the quality of life. Every step forward or significant achievement in our clients' lives reinforces the philosophy that defines Forbes Care — every victory, no matter the size, is a step toward a more fulfilling life.

With Bria joining our dedicated therapy services team, we're not just enhancing our ability to provide excellent care. We're also reaffirming our deep commitment to transforming lives for the better. Bria's role at Forbes Care thus means more than just a new member on our staff; it represents the continuing enrichment of our community-focused ethos. Welcome to the team, Bria. We're excited for what's ahead!
