Forbes Care is proud to introduce Hanna, our newest addition to the team of dedicated occupational therapists. Graduating from the University of Queensland in 2018, Hanna began her career as a generalist practitioner in Toowoomba. Her pursuit for challenging environments led her to Rockhampton, where she practised in a rural setting for 3 years. This experience was crucial in shaping Hanna’s approach to occupational therapy. Faced with limited resources and high clinical demand, she learned to be resourceful, tailoring her client care to maximise outcomes using the available resources at her disposal.
Hanna's time in private practice, within a multidisciplinary team, further enriched her understanding of how occupational therapy can unite with other disciplines to support complex clients. Relocating to north Brisbane, Hanna's search for a new opportunity led her to Forbes Care, where she has embraced the chance to expand her skills in equipment prescription and community occupational therapy services.
For Hanna, the most fulfilling aspect of her profession is the diversity of her interactions. Hanna finds her greatest rewards by engaging with a spectrum of individuals and working collaboratively to enhance their quality of life. Witnessing firsthand how modifications and equipment can revolutionise a person's day-to-day existence is a constant source of gratification in her work.
Since joining the team, Hanna has appreciated the value of collaboration. Unlike her previous solo roles, at Forbes Care, she is surrounded by an intricate network of supporting staff members. Forbes Care's commitment to clarity and transparency in its procedures ensures that everyone involved—clinicians and other stakeholders—are on the same page regarding roles and goals.
Reflecting on her most touching moments in occupational therapy, Hanna recalls assisting a young client in preparing for his schooling journey. Helping to script and deliver his first wheelchair just as he was about to start school is a highlight memory. It's these moments, that exemplify Hanna's commitment to the field, and the positive impact she has on her clients and their families.
Looking to the future, Hanna is committed to staying on top of current processes to ensure clients understand the possibilities available to them and the necessary steps to achieve their goals.
We at Forbes Care are thrilled to have Hanna on board, bringing her expertise, warmth, and passion for occupational therapy to our team. Her story reflects our values and her ambitions mirror our commitment to excellence in client care. Welcome aboard, Hanna – here’s to the new heights we will reach together.
